About Cardiac Health & Performance 

CH&P company was founded by Sara Roldan Ramos and Guido Pieles. Our goal is to deliver the best quality and accessible care for our patients. 

 

Dr Guido Pieles

Guido is a congenital cardiologist with expertise in inherited cardiac conditions, advanced imaging and sports and exercise cardiology. After obtaining his medical degree at the University of Marburg (Germany) and a DPhil at Oxford University he trained in childrens and adult congenital cardiology at the Bristol Heart Institute and the Hospital for Sick Children Toronto. He is part of the English Football Association Sports Cardiology Expert Group and consulting cardiologist for all teams at Manchester United FC.

 

He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol and an Honorary University Fellow in Exercise Science at the University of Exeter. He has received scholarships from prestigious organisations such as the British Heart Foundation (BHF), the NHS National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), British Cardiac Society (BCS) and the Universities of Oxford and Toronto.

 

Guido´s research centres on the development of innovative methods to monitor cardiac performance and health in elite athletes and young people with inherited and congenital heart disease. He leads an exercise cardiology research programme at the Bristol Heart Institute/ NIHR Cardiovascular Biomedical Research Centre in collaboration with top elite sports academies such as Manchester United FC and FC Barcelona.

 

Guido has published in international journals on the topics of inherited and congenital heart disease and exercise and sports cardiology and is a frequent invited speaker at international conferences on Congenital and Sports Cardiology.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sara Roldan Ramos was the co-founder of Cardiac Health & Performance Ltd. and her passion for cardiology and cardiac surgery was instrumental to the early success of our work. Sara was a childrens heart surgeon and excellent researcher in this field. Her clinical and research expertise shaped what Cardiac Health & Performance Ltd. stands for today. Sara tragically died in a car accident in 2018, cutting short the promising career of a very bright mind and wonderful human being.
